Spot Details

The Inlet is the gem of the North Shore. This a very

small beach on the inland side of the Hampton Beach Bridge. This is

advanced intermediate to advanced rider area and the area is very gusty and has

fast current from the tides. In addition to high current and gusty conditions

rider must watch for the many obstacles, moored fishing boats and jagged steel

piers. When the wind is Northwest ,West or WSW with high tided the

area is huge however in low tide its very tight. Close attention should

be given to the direction of the tide as your ability to stay upwind can be

greatly impacted by the current . The locals are friendly and receptive to

respectful outsiders that respect their beach and ask the rules before

venturing out .. The North Shore crew have limited spots in the area and

the inlet is the main location for NW, W, WSW wind direction. Best time

of year is spring and fall . Summer is light wind time in the area and

most days are sub 10 mph with the occasional frontal wind from the South East

or North East .

Other safety Items, the grass or brush on the flats

near the setup area is razor sharp and can shred your kite if you crash you

kite down on this stuff . There is also a lot of broken glass near the

road so always where booties here , even when riding as the clam beds can rip

your feet up quickly. The road is the parking area if you can find a

spot . Spring and fall you can usually find a spot along the road. Access in the Summer

is tough and beach traffic is crazy here, it once took me two hours to go a

couple miles and when I got to the spot there was no parking so I turned around

and went home.

Closest wind readings , Hampton beach and plumb island

sensors , both read low or show inconsistent readings on NW or NNW because they

are in a wind shadow. These sensors work well on NE through SE .
